What a multi bet is and how it works

Combining multiple bets on a single slip

A multi bet or accumulator bet is a method where two or more bets on separate events are placed on a single slip. Each bet is called a "leg". All legs must win for the entire multi bet to succeed. If even one leg loses, the whole stake is gone.

The main appeal of this method is that the odds multiply. A multi bet can return much more than a single bet on the same stake — but the risk increases proportionally. Those interested in cricket betting are especially familiar with multi bets, as adding several matches to a slip can significantly increase the return.

When you add events to your bet slip for a multi bet at jeetbuzz, the platform automatically shows the combined odds and potential return. Play for fun — let every betting session be enjoyable, not stressful.

There are three odds formats — decimal, fractional and American

The same price expressed three ways — but the meaning is the same

Different betting platforms display odds in different formats. Of the three formats, decimal is the most widely used, especially among Bangladeshi players. The two examples below make the difference clear.

Example 1 — Team A to win, stake ৳200

Decimal
2.25
Total return per ৳1 staked
Fractional
5/4
৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked
American
+125
৳125 profit on a ৳100 stake
Result (if win)
৳450
৳250 profit + ৳200 stake returned

If Team A does not win, the full ৳200 stake is lost.

Example 2 — Favourite Team B to win, stake ৳200

Decimal
1.80
Fractional
4/5
American
-125
You need to stake ৳125 to win ৳100
Result (if win)
৳360
৳160 profit + ৳200 stake returned

American minus odds show how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit.

The decimal format is the simplest because multiplying it by your stake gives the total return directly. In a multi bet, the odds of all legs are multiplied together — see the example below.

Three-leg multi bet — a worked example

How much comes back if all legs win?

jeetbuzz multi bet — process of multiplying odds across three legs

3 selections, stake ৳100

Leg 1 odds
1.70
Leg 2 odds
1.80
Leg 3 odds
1.90

Combined odds: 1.70 × 1.80 × 1.90

= 5.81 (approx.)

Total return (if all win)
৳581

If any one of the three legs loses, the full ৳100 stake is gone — there is no partial return.

In this example the decimal odds of the three selections are 1.70, 1.80 and 1.90 — none are particularly large on their own, but multiplied together the combined odds come to approximately 5.81. That means a ৳100 stake returns ৳581 if all three win. That kind of return is not possible with a single bet on the same stake.

Keep in mind though — as the number of legs increases, the chance of winning all of them falls. The difference in risk between a three-leg multi bet and a five-leg multi bet is considerable.

Useful tips for multi betting

Some relevant advice to keep your betting experience enjoyable

  • Keep the number of legs low — 2–4 legs is generally easy to track in a multi bet.
  • Mix events from different sports on one slip — a multi bet stays balanced when the outcome of one leg does not affect another.
  • Understand the context of an event before looking at the odds — check a team's form and whether any player is injured.
  • Decide how much you will stake before starting a betting session — do not increase it later.
  • Avoid changing your bets on impulse during a match — decisions made in advance tend to hold up better.

Quick reference card

2–4 legs ideal Odds 1.50+ per leg Set your stake in advance Test on a single event first

Many new bettors start with single bets to get comfortable, then move on to multi bets. At jeetbuzz you can browse various sports events on the jeetbuzz Bet page and build a bet slip the way you want.

Bankroll management and risk control

Play within the limits of your own budget

Bankroll management means using only a set portion of your total betting budget on each bet. This is even more important with multi bets, because if one leg loses the entire stake is gone.

Set a total budget

Separate your betting budget at the start of each month. Never bet beyond that budget.

Per-slip limit

Keeping no more than 5%–10% of your total budget on a single multi bet slip is a safe habit.

Track your losses

Keep a record of how much you have lost. If you are on a losing run, take a break — trying to recover quickly tends to cause more damage.

Use limit settings

Common mistakes to avoid

Mistakes often seen among both new and experienced bettors

The mistake Why it is a problem A better alternative
Adding too many legs More legs quickly reduce the chance of winning all of them Keep it to 2–4 legs
Placing a large stake after a loss Emotion-driven bets often lead to even bigger losses Stick to your budget and take a break
Correlated legs Including two outcomes from the same event in a multi bet means the odds do not actually multiply Choose events that are independent of each other
Betting without understanding the odds format Miscalculating and then being disappointed when the return is lower than expected Refer to the odds format examples above
Rushing a bet at the last moment Betting right before an event starts leaves no time to verify all the information Plan ahead

Worth remembering

A multi bet is a form of entertainment — not a guaranteed way to earn income. There is always a chance of losing your stake in every betting session. To learn more about betting, check our FAQ page.

Common questions about multi betting

Frequently asked questions from bettors

The number of legs allowed in a multi bet at jeetbuzz is set by the platform's rules. From a practical standpoint, 2–4 legs are easiest for most bettors to track. More legs raise the combined odds, but lower the chance of winning all of them — keep that balance in mind.

No. In a standard multi bet (accumulator), if one leg loses the entire slip is void. There is no partial return even if all other legs win. That is why it is important to be careful about how much you stake on a multi bet.

Decimal odds show the total return including your stake — for example, 2.25 means ৳225 comes back on a ৳100 stake. Fractional odds show only the profit ratio — 5/4 means ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked (stake returned separately). For multiplying legs in a multi bet, decimal odds are the simplest to use.

Cricket, football, tennis, basketball — any sports event can be included in a multi bet. One important point: avoid putting related events in the same slip. For example, placing two different markets from the same match on one slip means the odds do not truly multiply.

No — a multi bet may have higher combined odds, but winning requires all legs to come in, which is harder to achieve. With single bets you have a separate chance to win on each event. A multi bet is best seen as a form of entertainment, not a guaranteed profit strategy.
